Purpose of Processing Personal Information

Fine Translation processes personal information for the following purposes.

1) Translation & Interpretation Service Provision

  • Required Information: Client Name, Contact Information (Mobile/Email), Source Documents for Translation
  • Optional Information: Company Name, Department, Position, Payment Information (Account Number, Card Information)
  • Purpose: Translation request acceptance, quotation provision, work execution, deliverable submission, immediately discarded after service completion

2) Freelancer Management

  • Required Information: Name, Resident Registration Number, Password, Email Address, Mobile Phone Number, Final Educational Institution, Major, Main Work Areas, Language and Specialty Fields
  • Optional Information: Address, Home Phone Number, Occupation, Company, Company Phone Number, Foreign Language Test Scores, Career History
  • Purpose: Translation work requests, interpretation requests, tax invoice issuance [in accordance with Article 16 of the Value Added Tax Act and Article 53 of the Enforcement Decree]

3) Payment and Settlement

  • Required Information: Payer Name, Payment Method Information, Transaction Number
  • Purpose: Service payment, refund, tax invoice issuance (retained for 5 years under E-Commerce Act)

4) Customer Consultation and Complaint Handling

  • Required Information: Inquirer Name, Contact Information
  • Purpose: Inquiry, consultation, dispute resolution (retained for 3 years)

5) Marketing and Advertising

  • Purpose: New service announcements, event and information provision (immediately discarded upon withdrawal of consent)

  • Retention Period: Immediately discarded after inquiry processing completion

Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

Fine Translation does not provide personal information to third parties without the consent of the data subject. However, exceptions are made in any of the following cases.

  • When there are special provisions in the law or it is unavoidable to comply with legal obligations
  • For the exercise of legal authority by public institutions
  • When necessary for the benefit of the life, body, or property of the data subject or third party

When concluding a consignment contract, provisions related to personal information protection are specified in accordance with Article 26 of the Personal Information Protection Act, and if the content of the consignment work or the trustee changes, it will be immediately announced on the website.

Destruction of Personal Information

Fine Translation destroys the relevant personal information without delay when the personal information becomes unnecessary, such as when the retention period has elapsed or the processing purpose has been achieved.

  • For electronic files: Deleted by technical methods (e.g., low-risk algorithms) that cannot restore records
  • For non-electronic records such as printouts and documents: Destroyed by shredding or incineration

Data subjects may exercise their rights such as viewing, correcting, deleting, and requesting suspension of processing of their own or their legal representative's personal information at any time.
