Terms and conditions for using Fine Translation services
These Terms and Conditions are intended to stipulate the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of the Company and Users, as well as other necessary matters regarding the use of translation and interpretation services (hereinafter "Services") provided by Fine Translation Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "Company").
Chapter 1: General Provisions
Article 1 (Purpose)
These Terms stipulate the terms and procedures for using the services provided by the Company, as well as the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of the Company and Users.
Article 2 (Definition of Terms)
- "User" refers to a person who agrees to these Terms and uses the Company's services.
- "Translation Request" refers to a contract in which a User requests the Company to provide translation or interpretation.
- "Translation" refers to the completed translation or interpretation results provided by the Company according to the request.
Article 3 (Effectiveness and Amendment of Terms)
- These Terms take effect by being posted on the service screen or announced to Users by other methods.
- The Company may revise the Terms within the scope of not violating the provisions of the Terms and related laws, and the revised Terms will be announced in the same manner as in Paragraph 1.
Article 4 (Rules Other Than Terms)
Matters not specified in these Terms shall be governed by related laws such as the Act on Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, the Act on Regulation of Terms and Conditions, the Framework Act on Electronic Commerce, the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, or commercial practices.
Chapter 2: Service Use
Article 5 (Translation Request and Quotation)
- Users shall request by specifying the source file, language pair, deadline, and purpose in the translation request form.
- The Company shall issue a quotation after reviewing the request, and the User shall notify whether to conclude the contract within 3 days after receiving the quotation.
- If additional costs arise due to changes in the source text or shortened deadlines after quotation, separate agreement is required.
Article 6 (Payment and Refund)
Payment Methods
Card payment, bank transfer, virtual account (prepayment principle)
Refund Conditions
- Contract withdrawal after quotation: Refund after deducting 10% of contract deposit
- Withdrawal during translation: In case of prepayment in full, refund after deducting 40% of total quoted amount; in case of post-payment, pay 40% of quoted amount to the Company. However, if work exceeds 40% of quoted amount, deduct proportional costs or pay proportional costs to the Company
- Delay in delivery (Company's fault): Full refund or rework
Tax invoices are issued when business registration number is provided.
Article 7 (Scope of Work and Deadline)
- Translation Scope: Conveying the meaning of the source text as is, maintaining terminology consistency, complying with grammar and spelling
- Deadline: Compliance with the schedule specified in the quotation (extension possible in case of User delay)
- Revision: One free first revision (within 20% of main text), additional revisions charged separately
Article 8 (Scope of Responsibility and Compensation)
- The Company strives for accurate translation of the source text, but cannot guarantee the ultimate perfection of translation.
- If translation errors are found, objections must be raised within 1 month after delivery; in case of Company's fault, rework or refund
- The Company is not responsible for results caused by User's source text errors or inaccurate terminology.
Article 9 (Intellectual Property Rights)
- The copyright of the translation belongs to the original copyright holder, and the Company only exercises translation rights.
- Users cannot transfer, disclose, or sell the translation to third parties without permission.
- The Company may use anonymized samples for portfolio purposes in promotions.
Chapter 3: User Obligations
Article 10 (User Obligations)
- Users shall provide accurate source text and are prohibited from submitting materials that infringe on others' copyrights
- Compliance with deadlines; work may be suspended and contract terminated in case of payment delay
- False requests and malicious claims are prohibited (permanent use restriction upon detection)
Article 11 (Prohibited Acts)
- Illegal acts such as sending malicious code to the Company server or system attacks are strictly prohibited
- Creating multiple accounts or using others' names is prohibited
Chapter 4: Company Disclaimer
Article 12 (Disclaimer)
- No liability for service interruption due to unavoidable reasons such as natural disasters or system failures
- The Company is not liable for damages caused by User's fault
- Literary and legal judgments of translations are the User's responsibility
- The Company is not responsible for the User's utilization of translation results
Chapter 5: Dispute Resolution and Others
Article 13 (Dispute Resolution)
In case of disputes related to these Terms, the Seoul Southern District Court shall have jurisdiction.
Article 14 (Applicable Law)
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea.
Article 15 (Effective Date)
These Terms apply from March 1, 2026.
Appendix
- These Terms take effect from March 1, 2026.
- Previous terms shall apply preferentially to existing users.
